Like any other form of cosmetic treatment, it’s important that your clients are aware of the potential risks before proceeding with microblading. One of the most important things to consider is the medication that they are taking.
MEDICINES THAT MAY AFFECT THE RESULTS OF MICROBLADING TREATMENT INCLUDE:
1. Blood-thinning medications – Medications that thin the blood, such as aspirin and warfarin, can increase the risk of bleeding, infection, and scarring during the microblading process.
2. Antibiotics – Antibiotics can interfere with the healing process and can cause inflammation, blistering, and scarring.
3. Retinoids/Accutane – Retinoid creams, lotions, and pills can increase the risk of inflammation and scarring after microblading.
4. Steroids – Steroid medications, such as prednisone, methylprednisolone and anabolic steroids, can increase the risk of infection, scarring, and discoloration.
You can advise them of any medications that may interfere with the results of the microblading or that may increase your risk of side effects. If they decide to have microblading, be sure to give advice to minimize the risk of infection and scarring. This includes avoiding any medications that may interfere with the healing process.
